e-card from friend....

E-cards - I've been receiving a lot of e-cards lately. And its stated that my friend sent me this cute and funny e-card. Can I open that mail? Wanted to open it but afraid that it contain virus. Wanted to delete it but afraid that it might be really from friends of mine as they just stated your friend and not the name of friend. What should I do? Can I read the mail?

I guess much better if you don't open it. Most viruses do use your contact list or friends to deceive you. They used to disguise as e-cards, letters, etc. Now a days, you cannot rely anymore. You can contact the person who sent you this e-card just for you to verify if he or she indeed sent you this e-card. :-)

I don't know how you can make sure they are all e-cards? Is it a program? Do you see a strange name for this program? Did your friend write something in the emails? If so, perhaps it's more likely a virus. Or you can check it easily. You forward these emails to Hotmail or other email accounts, as they can automatically check whether there is a virus in it or not. Isn't it a good idea?

When I goes into my mails there are these titles that stated cute and funny e-card from your friend beside it there is websites url. If its from my friends emails id I would just open it without thinking but the id is from some websites and I'm not sure whether to open the e-card or not.

First thing you must check the name of the sender. If the name familiar to you, it is alright however if it doesn't, you better thing twice. I received e-cards all the time and normally it is from my friends. So far I've never been infested with virus from e-card. Another way to know whether it is from a genuine website of e-cards is by checking on the website. E-greeting is commonly used for people to send e-cards. Just be alert and check before you open the e-cards.
