When you were breastfeeding your baby how often did you feed him/her?

I am not sure if I have a little guzzle guts, lol, but sometimes I seem to be feeding her every half hour when she is awake. I think though my problem is that when I am feeding her, she is only feeding for 15 minutes at a time as she dozes off and has a little cat nap. Interested to know how often you fed your baby with breastfeeding and for how long each time?
I am lucky though she is a good sleeper and only wakes once during the night. I am sure she is getting enough milk as she has put on 1 kilo in last two weeks already.

There is no such thing as a guzzle guts when it comes to babies. They feed when they need/want to.
My son fed EVERY two hours, day and night, for the first six months of his life. Mind you, he was a BIG boy... 9lb 13oz and almost 22" long (actually, he probably would have been 10lb but he had to be suctioned to make him breathe and when they did he pooped all over them LOL). He's 15 now and 6'4" already (taking after my brother who is 6'9")
One thing I did discover with him though, initially he fed even more frequently until one day I stuck my finger in his mouth and told him to 'pipe down', only to discover that he was quite content to merely suck my finger... it wasn't the food he was after, he just had a really strong sucking reflex... if she doesn't already have a pacifier, soother or dummy (whatever you call it) then try giving her one and see if it makes a difference.

depended on the day. same as you and i, babies appetites change as well. some days youve got he hungry horrors, others not so much. i fed my daughters approximately every 2ish - 3 hours or so, and theyd nurse for about 15-20 minutes on each side. so basically, id be feeding them for 40 minutes.. and then theyd be hungry again within an hour and a half from when i started feeding them before. give or take of course.

Hi tessah, thanks for letting me know. I need to try and feed my baby for longer so she will last longer in between feeds. I do agree some days they are hungrier then others.
