I have seen many comments at mylot and I myself add many comments here. As far as I know, comments do not earn a sum to us. Yet many of us add comments to responses. Is it only because it makes the conversation better or does it have other benefits too. Please enlighten me on this.

it is a bit mysterious but it helps you earn more too. Once I had a discussion with someone and I posted one response. All the other answers were made via adding comments and I didn't give any responses to other discussions that day and I made about 35 cents by sending only one response and many comments to the same discussion, under the same response. This way I found out that adding comments is also useful and helps you earn more but if it is worth for that of course.

Comments does not add sum. But it is a good practice as i guess. it signals to the responder that you have read the response. It also increases the visibility of the discussion.

There are lots of advantages of adding comments in mylot. The first reason is, yes you do get paid for writing comments. A few weeks ago Crash (administrater - mylot) had discussion on mylot here and he stated that you get paid for comments, responses and discussions. Also I have noticed that some days when I write alot of comments I am paid more then other days. Comments are also good as I think people like to hear back from you. It builds up friendships and these people are more likely to respond to your discussions again. Which in turn means more responses more earnings also. So I think writing comments is beneficial.

I add comments on my discussions because I think it makes them more interactive - more of a two-way conversation. I didn't think I got paid for it but maybe it does increase the value of the discussion because it means the adverts get more views, as the discussion gets revisited, if that makes sense.
