Childhood Vacations

The Great Smoky Mountains is, without a doubt, my favorite vacation spot. As a child, my family took a vacation to the Smokies every summer. As my siblings and I got a little older, my family branched out of only visiting the Smokies in the summer. We also took trips over fall break in October, during winter break in December, and during Spring Break in March. I think my fondest memory of all our family vacations in the Smoky Mountains is the year we had Christmas in Tennessee. The cabin we stayed in that year has now become what I'd like my dream house to be. There was a fireplace, and a porch that wrapped around the entire home. It snowed Christmas day, too. I'm hoping to possibly find a job working for A Christian Ministry in the National Parks next summer, and get to live in the Smoky Mountain area while I'm there. Has anyone else ever stayed in or visited the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina? Or have any childhood vacation memories that they cherish?

Yeah, I've been to Cades Cove. It is definitely among my top favorite destinations in that area. I think we've driven along the Blue Ridge Parkway as well, but I was very young at the time so I don't really remember it too well. No doubt it is beautiful! I've been to Cherokee as well, another beautiful spot.
