The Ovarian Cancer That Turned Out To Be A Baby.

I have just read a really interesting story in the sun paper, online, apparently a 57 year old woman was feared to have ovarian cancer and was expecting the worst when she went for a scan. Only instead of being told the awful bad news that she had ovarian cancer, she was stunned to be told that she was more than 30 weeks pregnant with her first child, a girl! Can you imagine that? She was having IVF and had spent over £15,000.00 on the treatments, but were ready to give up after she suffered a miscarriage. She was sent to hospital after a doctor discovered a hard abdominal mass in her stomach, but which turned out to be a little baby girl. But aside from the fact that she was trying for a baby, how would you feel if you were not trying for a baby but this happened to you? Would you be happy at 57 to be told you were expecting a baby? Having to start all over again at that time of life? Or would you be pleased and just accept it? Has anything like this happened to you?

I feel that is to old to have a baby. She will be 75 when this child graduates. If she even lives long enough to see this happen. I'm in my early 40's and I don't think I could handle a baby. I have grandchildren and they wear me out.

Well queenofarms, I am totally with you on this one, I would be horrified if I found I was pregnant at that age! I have 4 children and I am 34 and they wear me out now. I could not cope with it.

OMG That must have been a pleasant surprise for her as she had been trying! I have to say though that being pregnant and having a baby was shock enough at 24 and 32 even though both were planned! For me personally a baby at the age of 57 would not be something I would like but then many 57 year olds today are far fitter, healthier and more able to cope than their younger counterparts! xxx

I know I couldn't cope with it - my back wouldn't be able to take the strain apart from anything else! Thanks for the br sweets!

I totally agree, I would be horrified if it was me and I had not been trying, thankfully though it cannot happen.

That is so crazy! It's good that the woman was finally able to have a kid after trying to hard for so long, but things are gunna be rough on the child when they gets older.

It is crazy isnt it? Although it would be a big relief to find out I did not have cancer it would be a bigger thing to think I was going to have another baby at that age! It will be rough for the baby.
