I am lucky because my mom can still mostly take care of herself, but she is starting to have a hard time remembering how to work a calculator and it is sad to see that. She has had to never had a checking account until the last few years, so I go over to her apartment the beginging of each month and do her bills for her and balance the checkbook. It is hard sometimes because she forgets to wrote down some of the checks that she has written out. It is also sad because she is also starting to have a hard time putting phone numbers into the phone also. My phone number is confusing for her because the last parts are 19-9911 and she always switches the 9s around in the number and she will leave a message for someone and she thinks it is for me and then gets upset because I didn't know that she called me. She is not understanding that she is getting the number wrong because the phones have a basic lady talking that says to leave a message. I am thankful that I still have her and she is now 86 years old.

My Mum is still quite good for her age...she takes care of herself on the whole. Anything that is heavy or manual hubby or i do it for her. All she has to do is drop a hint!!! I go shopping with her as its a wee bit heavy for her to carry about.

We live with my parents to help them out. My dad wouldnt be able to take care of everything on his own. If we move away we would be here often so it doesnt make sense to leave.. We plan to build a house on our property in the future. I've lived here all my life and would do anything for my parents.. I love them dearly.
