Question about Best Audio Program for Italian

This could apply for any language program. I have been interested in Italian, since we do plan to take a trip to Europe in a few years. I have a basic one for the computer, but I want to have one that I can use on a CD or a mp3 player, as well as a pocket book or booklet. So if you all know one that would be very good, could you let me know? I do not want it to be just a travel type course. Thank you.

I know the Rosetta Stone programs work well but they are so darn expensive who can afford them. I would contact your local library or college if there is one near and see if they can suggest something. Also used book stores sometimes carry language tapes, cd's and or books. I hope this helps... I would love to go to Italy as I still have several relatives from my maternal grandmother's side of the family. I have never met any of them. My brother did go with my cousin and an uncle. But maybe someday, I haven't given up yet... Good luck have fun and be safe. Brightest Blessings, Mari

I would love to get the Rosetta Stone but it costs almost as much as I make a month. They have some audio programs at our bookstore, but not as many as there would be elsewhere.
