Who here makes money as a movie extra? Which cities can you actually apply for those jobs in? How exactly did you become one?

Usually you can find these jobs in larger cities. I'm in NY, and will occasionally do this type of work, mostly just for fun. craigslist is a great place to look for these types of jobs. There's also a website (you have to pay for it) called "Backstage" that lists castings. Good luck! See ya in the movies!

I am studying sound in film in a film school, and I haveworked a bit as a location sound recordist, but I was once an extra in some German TV series scene, and got 60$ for three hours of work. Fimmakers often provide you with good catering and reasonable salary, if you choose a good friendly crew and a big production-)
