Even though I don't celebrate Easter religiously, I still do the egg and basket thing with my kids and end up cooking a big Easter breafast and an even bigger Easter dinner.
I was wondering what your favorite Easter (or other spring holiday, solstice, etc..) dish was.
I only make Hot cross buns as part of breakfast once a year and Easter is that day. I love them. As far as dinner goes, I just love the Ham and mashed potatoes. I don't make ham often maybe twice in a year and I really enjoy it. I'm not sure why I don't make it more because it's so easy but I just don't.
So does anyone have anything special they like to eat for your particular observed Spring holiday?
Thanks for reading!

Me too, I usually have ham at Easter and Christmas only. In fact I just came away from a family dinner where everybody brings something. I brought the ham, glazed with mustard orange glaze and pineapples. I liked the veggies too that someone else brought. Peas, carrots and parsnips. My favourite though are the chocolates. My son bought me some dark and white chocolate truffles. Mmm they were good. I ate them all already. (there were only four)

My favorite holiday dish is green bean casserole. We serve it for every holiday.

I'd probably ahve to say that my favorite spring holiday food is easter candy. xD
I'm not fond of ham, or red meat in general, but I have a huge sweet tooth lol.

I'm having easter dinner at my soon to be MIL house in 11 hours. I'm sure he dread of this has nothing to do with why I am still awake at 3:30.
I bought hot cross buns this year. I buy them or make them for Easter Sunday and Ash Wednesday.
The ham. Yeah Christmas and Easter, that is the only time I ever cook it too. I think that is because in the summer the only pig parts I eat are ribs that I've smoked for 6 hours until the fall off the bone and melt in your mouth.
*sigh* I can't wait for Memorial Day.

Damn girl you smoke your own...I want to come over for that. Ribs are one of my favorite foods of all time. Besides, you can see mine so I need you to fatten me up. LOL...Ok you can't really see mine, I was just trying to make you feel sorry for me to want to feed me ribs. They sound amazing. I'll bring my famous Kumquat BBQ sauce.

we do not do anything special.the kids are allowed one easter egg each and then all the relatives are asked to give them anything but yucky chocolate! commercial rubbish like mothers day and fathers day.
it is like every other weekend for us. if the weather is good we do family things.
today we went a drive off the island and up to a view point that looks back over our island. lovely. last week i took her to our castle.
next week we are going to the discovery centre and playing putting.
what i do like about easter is the monday off!
