With the price of gas and the end result seems to be the increase in prices of everything else, we have to save money where we can. This is a great drink for the kids and it takes ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. It if frugal and healthy at the same time. FRUIT SMOOTHIES Serves 4 2 cups canned fruit with juice 3/4 cup nonfat powdered milk (4 tbsp. non-fat dry milk to 3/4 cup of water) 1 to 2 drops almond flavoring or 1 tbsp. lemon juice Put in blender and blend until smooth. Add 1/2 tray ice cubes and blend until smooth. Variation To use fresh fruit, use one cup of fruit and 1 cup water and sweeten to taste. (Use almond flavoring with cherries and large stone fruits, lemon juice with berries.) You can adjust this recipe to suit the needs and tastes of your family. You will save a lot of money as compared to commercial smoothies.

We will try these. We usually use ice cream or yogurt and fresh fruit with our Magic Bullet and make them individually. However, I think that I will make these and then we can all have one at one time. Thanks for the tip!

I love fruit smoothies. I usually put bananas (always cheap) and fresh or frozen fruit and ice. I like to buy fruit when it's in season and cheap (or free from my dad's peach trees) and then freeze enough to last me a few months then add to smoothies.

my girls will love this. They like to make their own anyway with yogurt, and fruit and milk or ice cream, fruit and milk. I prefer chocolate ones myself! I'm highly allergic to strawberries.
