Well, i don't know why dog's barks eachtime when they see some strange person. Is that their style of saying HI, or they just wanted to alert us that BEWARE OF US, and don't try to enter into my house...lol What do you think, why dog's barks when they see some strange person...??? Share your thoughts!!! Cheers!!!

lollzzzzzzzz......... that's a great and funny question mnsrwt!!!! I think dog's bark because they care about their owners and when they see some strangers they think they would do something wrong to their owners.......... Think you got ur answer buddy!! Keep Posting.. HAPPY EARNINGS

I think the dogs believe the place belong to themselves. So they don't allow strangers enter inside. Besides, sometimes will bark when they are scared. And the strangers make them feel nervous.

barking can be a greeting or a warning depending on what the dog is doing, if he is wagging his tail it is a greating, if he is snarling and his teeth are showing it is a warning to stay away

Actually if it's tail is lowered and wagging that is also a sign or nervousness and you should be cautious around it. That comes from quite a bit of experience. But if it is wagging with the tail in the air, that is normally a greeting.

Dogs are the most friendly mammals second to humans but they knew who their masters are. I mean, they are friendly mammals but they don't just trust strangers. They trust only those whom they know and are masters to them. The barking may have something to do with I don't know you, why come into my master/s house. I don't know how dog's feel or think, it's how I understand it.

Dogs, like cats, are quite territorial creatures. When dogs are within their own territory and strangers approach near it, they will usually bark as a form of protecting that territory. When the dog is in the compound of a house, the dog will treat that house as part of its territory. It will not bark at the owner because the dog will view the owner as part of its territory, but not strangers as dogs will regard them as potential intruders. Dogs are loyal creatures which will do anything to protect their masters, so they will view strangers as threats to their masters. Only when these strangers become familiar to them or when dogs realize that these strangers are actually friends of the master will they stop barking, and become more friendly and approachable.

Dogs only bark when they are happy or when they feel danger or not familiar with the things or ple.. I guess the bark also act as an alert for the owners that something is happening ^_^

it might be because they treat the inhabitants of the house as their family and as a stranger enters, they feel insecure and barks. A regular, non-resident visitor to the house might be getting considered as a family member and gets affectionate response from the dog when he/she comes to the home.....

my dogs bark as soon as someone looks like they are coming to our place (we live on a farm) just making us aware that someone is around, one of my dogs is protective of my partner. even when we have visitors and they first arrive she makes sure that she can see the visitors and my partner from her kennel. dogs are really smart and they love us and like to know that we are safe.

I know that it is a dog's nature to protect what is his. That goes for his home and everything and everyboy in it. Once the dog gets use to you and sees that you are not a threat, they generally stop barking at you.

I feel it is just their Biological instinct . The domesticated ones do it out of alerting others' of dangers.

I worked in another city away from my mother and visit her about once a year.Eachtime when I arrive, her dog barks. If i call the dog's name"niuniu",it stops barking and swing its tail to express welcome, though it haven't seen me for almost a year.Maybe it knows me by my calling its name?

Thats true that lot depends upon its nature.their action is different at different occasions.Once i had a dog,i could guarantee it would be the laziest dog,who barked usually in a day.i never felt that there was a dog in my house.although it was highly trained and obeying. but as i noticed barking may be an alert.when it snarls it says to stay away from it and greets by wagging its tail.but barking helps the dog to make someone stay away from it

I don't have any idea why dog's bark at strangers but yes, they do. I am going to share my little experience with you. My collie/shepherd, Gilbey, hates snowmen. All time funniest thing - I used to make them with a friend - he would go berserk and not only bark but he would try to tackle and bite the snowman! I believe there were 2 reasons for this - one is that he would see us rolling the snow into "balls" which he loves to play with. He was mistaking the snow balls for his own toy balls. Two is that he mistook the snowman for a stranger trying to intrude his space - or was trying to protect us and thought the snowman was a threat. Look for similar things when trying to figure out why dog is reacting that way to a sink and a TV. Probably something kind of silly, but easy to overlook that you haven't seen yet.

my little dog - this is my little dog haohao standing on the stairs seeing us off
Hello dear mnsrwt. I have a littl dog. From this little dog of mine, I could guess that he is afraid and nervous when he sees a guest coming to visit us and he would hide himself behind the big mirror on the stairs though he barks. Also when he barks, in fact, he is also trying to make himself brave enough before the new comer. But when he sees that the guest is friendly, he will gradually play with him. This is what I have observed from my poodle.

A lot of it has to do with their nature. The dogs I have now are all pretty friendly, but they are also territorial to the point of barking to alert us that there is someone or something coming up the road. Of course mine bark if there is a squirrel climbing the tree across the road, I used to try to stop them from this practice but my uncle entices them to do it, so I had to give up on that...

as i've experienced from one of my craziest dogs XD even though he knows that stranger was actually his master's friend, he still barks and see to it that that person was scared of him. maybe my dog likes to see some people that are scared of him even though he knows them. he'll just stop from barking when people will come get close to him and hold his paw
