The Dresden Files

I got into the whole book series because of the tv show from a while back. Really up my ally, the storylines are interesting and there's enough snarky smart-alecy and sarcastic humour in it that well heck I identify with Harry more often than I should. I'm currently in the middle of Summer Knight but I'll confess I've already read Proven Guilty and White Night, and I'll point out I was a good way through White Night when I decided the books were great and bought the next one I could find, which happened to be Proven Guilty. But now I have all of them except Small Favour which isn't out yet, here anyway.
Please tell me there's a few fans of this series here.

I love them! I started reading them after hearing about them (a lot!) from an online friend, so when I found them on offer (3 for the price of 2) in a bookstore in London (I always go to bookstores in London) I bought 2 and got hooked. I just read the last one, Changes. It was really good, although I don't normally like endings like that. Haven't seen the series, it never made it on the telly here and I haven't tried to download it to see what's it all about. Most of my Dresden files fan friends seem to prefer the books though.

You have until 26.07 to finish it before the next one comes! They've been out in April every year for the last years, but this year it'll be later :-/
And I had planned to get it when I'm in Edinburgh in May! That's going to be hard now. Might end up buying Side Jobs in the meantime. 'Cause I don't know anyone else who reads them and lives near me, so there's nobody to act as library ;-)

Hey, thanks for reminding me! I loved the TV show and hate that it was cancelled! I forgot that it was based on a book series! Your description of them has made me decide to go get them. They sound right up my alley also!

They are very good, and I'll tell you know, way different from the series. Lots and lots of stuff is different so even the ones that were converted to episodes still have a lot that you won't know. Mostly stuff that wouldn't fly on daytime tv, or would have required far too much cgi. :D Particularly Storm Front. The episode fool Moon with the Werewolf only shares the name, and that there's a couple werewolves in it, whereas Fool Moon goes far beyond that.
