The United States and the rest of the planet is in the midst of climate change and a major drought. Yet we insist, at least in the United States, in using up to six gallons of fresh water to move feces (yes, disgusting isn't it?) and urine through a sewer system via toilet! There is another way. I'm not talking about the high efficiency toilets either, that simply cut back on the amount of fresh water used to move the disgusting mess. Sometimes, you have to flush more than once, thus the efficiency goes down the drain. * There is a kind of toilet that bypasses the need for water all together. It is called the composting toilet. * What a composting toilet does is turn your waste into usable dirt suitable for plants over time. They depend on microbes for labor. * A wikki on the flushable subject~ * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composting_toilet
