When I was a kid, I always colored eggs on Easter's day. I did use colour papers together with my classmates to make eggs pretty But I had never asked why Easter was associated with Eggs? Anyone knows about it?

It is because it was origianluy the date when romans worshiped thier god of fertility astarte and as eggs are a sign of fertility when Emperor Constantine decided to stop persecuting Christians and join them it was carried over into the roman form of Christianity ((none of it scriptual!))

Seeing how Easter is actually a rip off of the PRE Christian holiday Ostara there is no connection to eggs or bunnies for that matter and the Christian Easter...In the PRE Christian holiday they represent fertility, new beginnings, the Earth being reborn etc etc

From what someone stated in a previous post. The holiday of Easter is actually a pagan holiday where you celebrate fertility and new life and growth. So eggs would be a proper selection. It really has NOTHING to do with the religion christian aspect of easter.

I was wondering about this this weekend. I have no idea, its weird to think about how all these strange traditions were started when it really doesnt make any sense at all.

Having eggs means a new life, a new beginning. Also, it is the season for chickens or ducks to lay their eggs. Take care.

Eggs symbolize new life and beginnings, and early Easter Eggs were actual chicken eggs (symbolizing life because a chick comes from an egg). ((Also, this could potentially be related to pre-christian holidays that occurred around the same time as Easter, that celebrated Spring (a time of beginnings and life as well) )) At least, this is what I have been told in my Egg Decorating class I took once.
