hey all~ well i hope everyone (who celebrates) had a great easter, hopefully with family and friends. now onto my story.... i have this bad tradition, yet we always make a joke out of it....and i wanted to share it with my kewl mylot friend :P so for the last year or so i've been having this happen. every 4-6 months i wind up in ER. first it was i stoped breathing (from a 'routine mri), then a problem with my elbow (its all btr, 'cept the nerve disease thats taken up residence there like it has in the rest of my limbs), then a concussion, a spider bite, a dog bite and lastnite.....5 months after my dog bite....i sliced into my finger and had to go get stiches. i should have known to stop when i dropped the full bottle of pop....or when i droped the bagels....but no i was hungry and wanted a bagel..so i started with a butter knife....it wasn't working and i was hungry....so i pulled out the BIg serrated bread knife....placed the bagel on the counter (so i didnt cut my hand) and proceeded to slice the bagel....well....im not sure if my arm twitched (happens sometimes with my nerve disease) or what, but i all the sudden sliced into my left ring finger....across the entire tip and down to just above the first joint. we (me and my brother, everyone else thought i was joking and we're rolling on the floor laughing) tried all we could think of to get the bleeding to stop....pressure, gause, clod water, vasiline....nothing worked....so onto ER..... thats where we started laughing ourselves....it was then, as my usual nurse checked me in, that we realized it had been 5 months since my last trip (for the dog bite) so me and the nurse joked about our date.....as we cleaned my finger....then the dr (who isn't the funnest person to converse with) sewed me up and the nurse wrapped it. then we talked about what my next visit should be for (in 4 to 6 months of course) and i went home.... did i by chance mention i just wanted a bagel....i was hungry :P ~j

Life with you my son is never boring! I am just thankful, grateful etc...that you did not choose to do this "routine" injury during one of your sisters' birthdays.....I really appreciate each birthday that you DON'T spend in ER!!!!!!! Special note: He has been this way much longer than the last year or so...try ALL HIS LIFE!!!! LOL and I am sorry I laughed...but when you think about it in the overall scope of things, well, it was definitely past his 5 month mark and thus due. Hope you're feeling better soon my son! I love you! Mom
