I recently read somewhere that strawberries are an excellent source of iron and calcium. The iron content makes it an a good choice for those suffering from anemia. I also learnt that the fruit is a good supplement for urinary infections and for skin problems such as freckles, blotches and dryness. I had no idea strawberries had so many medicinal values. Did you? Are you aware of any other values that this fruit has?

I knew that they tasted really good, does that count? I just bought around 20 pounds of them and plan on making some jam as well as eating them sliced with pineapple and banana... so refreshing! but now I am concerned - I surely do not want them to diminish my freckles! I like having freckles and do not consider them a skin problem at all - to my eye freckles are beautiful on people.

Ah ah ah. In that case do not worry about your freckles. I think the literature said that they should be crushed and applied to affected area for skin blemishes. I see your a real strawberry fan. Good luck on making your jam. Mom and I recently made our first gauva jam. It tasted real good but she unknowingly gave away the one and only bottle we had left. I could not believe it!!!!!

Yup! Strawberries are great for the teeth and gums! They keep the gums strong. And just to let you know, another fruit with a good source of iron is watermelon! YUM!
