Walls of Weapons and Loss of Lives

India

am a student of politics and international relations in one of the Indian universities.am so stressed up with the subject that i don't feel like attending the classes and the simple and the plain reason is that the very subject fails to answer my questions, arose out of my own different nature that's called thinking about lives on earth. recently me n my two friends were on discussion on Kashmir,a bone of contention between India and Pakistan turmoil relations.i wont stretch more on Kashmir but certain things linked up in this line.when i heard the general budget session of India2008 and the mentioning of raising the defense expenditure in 2008 i was not at peace of "heart" because i was worried about the people who needs NO Weapons to survive today because they are not professional killers Terrorist or Armed Forces.am the person who thinks that Weapons and people professionalized for it anywhere in any part of the globe is not needed,no boundaries defined undefined are required to allow or disallow human beings or animals,no more dicussions, conferences,no formalities by the people sitting in power.it's the people matters whose views still has not been considered because it is one of the toughest task for the people with the authority like politicians, armed personnel, administrator etc. people are facing wars in their daily lives in their hearts, minds and not the wars defined by scholars, intellectuals and so forth in articles, books, speeches etc.these are the people who has questions like me but no answers indescribable in books,in notes of my professors etc. the question is Why Walls of Weapons? Why no Peace? we are building house with walls of weapons and Oxygen to intake is peace in that house.why we are fighting at borders?don't we have any consideration for the lives of soldiers?just fighting over conflicts. it's like every country is developing weapons for civil and military uses and in a diplomatic fashion is longing to counter Terrorism and to avert Wars. War has become omnipresent and omnipotent,it's above the concept of God and Humans anymore.why we are trying to establish peace at the cost of weapons?why we are increasing defense expenditures?why we are not at peace?why there are numerous disputes? And there are many questions rolling in my and my friends minds. when i think about United Nations i believe it's going to collapse in next few years if it's not reformed, the problem lies with the strategies adopted by it,in reality can never work out for the people and can never substitute their sentiments. it's just an institution of people who thinks about every human and non human issues but failed to work, failed to change the bad in the atmosphere. sorry friends am quite idealistic in nature and i have high opinion about the place where we live in. think about the world as a whole and not just being confined to boundaries and the people living in. i think there are people ready to make a difference for better lives and better times but unfortunately they are WITHOUT WEAPONS ANS WITHOUT WORDS to establish peace that has not been described in International Politics.what hurts me more is to know of the increase in defense expenditure with no concentration to economic aspects. if today governments turns up that no more "defense" these people will be left out without jobs as governments didn't do much to the employment sector.moreover today people are joining armed forces because of unemployment in the country, they don't care about the nation and the disputes.and the worse thing is that they have to listen up to the people in political power.so how come these people are deciding the faith of millions and trillions of people at the cost of weapons? i wish that people can stand to HELP THE HUMANITY. keep working for better.

kashmir, as with all the other volatile regions of the world is a hotspot for all discussions. its a known fact that whenever the armed forces are deployed to a region,. atrocities that amount to human rights violation takes place... the best way to give the inhabitants of kashmir a breathing space is to withdraw the army from kashmir.

Hi kanika and welcome to mylot. Your discussion is rather interesting and does transmitt the burden you have on your heart. I took particular note of your point on poeple not being in need of weapons to survive because they are not professional killers etc........ On the point of not feeling to attend classes anymore I would encourage you to continue. As a person trained in politics you may one day become the leader of your country and with your ideals you no doubt would make a change by not following in the footsteps of some of those leaders before you. Change begins in the heart of youths like you and your friend who become fed up with the system of oppression and decide to take a stand and instigate a change. Cheers.

I hope you will keep on with your studies because the world needs more people like you and if you can finish your education and get qualifications you will have more influence and can do something to change people's attitudes maybe in your future career. You may not find the answers to your questions but it is very important that you keep questioning and searching for ways to resolve some of the world's problems. The more people think like you do the better place the world will become.
