i watched again the Lord Of The Ring movies last night
the tv station here played it again
one scene had took my mind, it was when the troll soldiers try to break the big gate of Minas Tirith,
Gandalf take the legions guarding the gate before it was broken
the men soldiers were trembling, we can see it from the shaking hands and their frightened face
it felt scary when the gate was finally broken and the monsters were came in running with blades and swords
i imagine if it was real and i was one of the soldier,
i don't think i have the braveness to defend my city
maybe i'll just run away and hide somewhere deep on the mountain
i'm such a coward, hehee
i think my topic has something connected with nationalism issue
what about you ??
will you be the brave one ??

Hello unuzzz,
I am a coward. I won't step in front and try to protect my country. Well, I don't really need to, right as I am a woman! *laughs* Talking about patriotism, I am not the right person. I think I will follow your advice - try to hide somewhere to protect myself first!

Sadly, I am not quite that brave. And being female I would be taken away to safety before the battle to care for the children. But watching that film and seeing them tremble and afraid it brings the reality into the film and shows us what it means to defend your city.

I'd have been charging right back into them myself. That's my nature, something threatens me & I destroy it.
The regent of gondor should have been burned long ago for letting the river defenses get so run down. A natural barier like that would have been very useful. The first walls should have been built right on its banks.
