Well I wanted to make 1000$ for our first day it was kinda my goal. I posted on here to ask for some good luck and I did get a couple of people respond. Well here is how our first day went, we only made 100$ but I think there are many reasons why:we are a new company It was Easter weekend we were put in a lot that was right across another Jewlery seller, which they had different stuff but they have been selling there for 7 years and he has 200,000$ Inventory. We were also told that Saturdays were slower than Sundays. The Jewlery store across from us were real nice to us, bought some of our used rings that were gold and sold them at there store for more. That wasnt a real big deal b/c they were used and my mother-in-laws money. All in all it wasnt that bad and the day went by fast and i got to drink a couple of beers while i worked . We ordered more for our inventory with that 100 dollars which makes us with only 800$ inventory, its enough to start and is quit a bit of Jewlery, but not enough to make a wow for people to actually browse around to look at everything. We will build and build it up, 100$ a day with what money we have to put in it is still enough to make it worth it. I will keep you informed on how we do. We are going to make sure this weekend we are farther away from the other Jewlery store, it is the only big jewlery store we seen there, the other stores that had jewlery only had a little selection. with our style being somewhat different than the other big jewlery store than we will do pretty good. I didnt see anyone else selling body jewlery though and we have some of that too, but the problem was most the people I seen with Jewlery on there faces glanced over but didnt really notice that we had body jewlery so we are going to make signs for next weekend, neither one of us knows how to draw that good so we might have to get someone else to do it. All in all I still have a great felling and know that no matter what we arnt losing. It can only get better and I cant wait till next weekend. I got a major sunburn though and a tan line where my sunglasses where raccon eyes. Anyways I will keep ya posted.

Step at a time, you have been able to check out the competition,I feel in this line one has to come up with something different,a bit of a challenge, however sure you will make it work.Good attention getting 'marketing' is always a great help.Could go topless I guess, match the racoon eyes!

We were thinking of online sites but we want to wait till we have more inventory, yes its like a flee market, Traders Village, dont know if you heard of it. Yes it was like 73 degrees at least. I'm in Texas, but it is coming your way. We learned a lot though in our first day of selling. so now we are going to apply that to the rest

Sounds like you had a pretty good day, congrats. You will need to stay afloat 5-7 years to see major profits; until then you will be folding the proceeds back into the business to built it up and expand. Hold fast to your dream and do not give up. The road may be hard at times but it will be so worth it when you finally arrive at financial security. Good work!

Yes i thought that it would be easier to start and get our profit going, but it looks like its going to take a little while more, we need more of a varity, and we need to grab the attention of all the clientale we can.

Congrats!! It's great to hear people going into business for themselves and that you are optimistic. Retail can be a tough biz (worked in Retail for 8 years), but jewelry can be lucrative. I worked for a jewelry manufacturer too....I've had A LOT of jobs! lol Having a Niche market can be very profitable and here's wishing it is for you! Again, Congrats!

Thanks, it was easier to start it than you think but it looks like the hard part is getting to where we are actually bringing in profit.
