Does film quality actually bother you?

So ever since DVDs have come out,I've had friends who have chucked their video tapes and re-bought everything on DVD. I didn't, and I have kept all of my videos. the quality is good enough to keep. But now I have just learnt of HD DVDs and Blueray, and how it is the next step in film quality. I know for a fact that if it takes over as well as the DVD, a lot will be re-buying again. But does TV and film quality really bother you enough to make you feel the need to upgrade? I haven't even seen any HD television or blueray DVDs, but I have always been fine with the good old video tape. The quality doesn't really bother me at all if the film is good!

As long as I can make out the images and the sound is synched, I'm fine with anything. I have been subjected to watching some horrible quality films on the internet. The voices were off and the images were completely pixelated.

I enjoy good quality, but if I have a tape and it plays just as well as a DVD would, then I will continue to watch that. I don't have any tapes anymore though, as they all got ruined in a flood. I have a lot of DVD's, but no BluRay or HD DVDs. I have a HD television, and a BluRay compatible Playstation 3, but we have not rented or bought and BluRay films. I think they are way too expensive as of now, it's rediculous to pay over $30 on a DVD when you can get the same DVD for $12! Some people are just crazy, and have money to blow. I on the other hand do not, I'm behind on bills, and not purchasing anything that is not needed.
