have you ever told a white lie, or embellished the truth just a little bit?

have you ever told a little white lie or embellished to the to empress somebody, have you said you had a boyfriend or girlfriend when you didn't? said that you were the manager at your work when you really were only an employee, said you liked a certain kind of music because you wanted to empress the person who did, when it wasn't true or anything else, what did you say or do to empress somebody or some group of people when it really wasn't the absolute truth, you just wanted to empress them.

I believe everyone of us, in our lifetime would have told a little lie, be it white lie or black lie. As long as it is for the win-win of everyone, I see no harm. I do not tell to impress. I see no need to. The truth will be out sooner than thought. When I tell a white lie, it is to save either someone or myself. LOL.

Take a very classic typical example. I am running late for a client appointment. I called up the client to inform I will be SLIGHTLY late when I know very well I will be very late. The reason I gave was I was in the middle of a support call when I was not. The client will feel happy because they know that they will be in good hands if I take over their support. At least, I am responsible enough to complete what I need to do. Besides, I keep them informed that I will be late. If I reach there late, I can very well give some excuse of how problematic the support call is. It is all a lie, a white lie but it is a win-win for all. The client is happy. I am happy. My boss is happy.

I think every one tells white lies once in a while. As for myself I never felt the need to impress other people. I have however, told white lies to protect my friends and family and to avoid hurting someone. For instance if a friend asked me if I thought her husband was having an affair. I would never tell her even if I knew for sure.

yes that is a delicate situation, it is hard to know what to do in that situation, once my girlfriend's husband kissed me but I told her nothing happened because it would have made a scene and I was determined never to be in a room alone with him again.

I’m sure we have ALL told a “little white lie” to Impress someone. It starts when we are children. My dad can do this--- or my mom makes the best cookies in the world--- little white lies. I have to say I have never told a “little white lie” or any lie to get a job or keep a job--- it’s not worth it. I am sure from time to time still as an adult--- I stretch the truth a bit—to make myself look better—or to get what I want.
