What are the food prices and availabilities doing in your corner of the world?
Some news reports are showing that there are shortages everywhere... some of the culprit is bizzare weather patterns, another culprit is rising oil costs.
I think a HUGE culprit is the corn ethanol production...corn is such a staple food for many livestock from chickens to cows plus the farm machinery to harvest and process this corn uses up even more oil.
The world’s poorest nations still harbor the greatest hunger risk. Clashes over bread in Egypt killed at least two people last week, and similar food riots broke out in Burkina Faso and Cameroon this month.

I read the same article today. So far we have been lucky here in Maryland, just high prices. DH is planting more things in our garden this year. I was also reading that they expect this to continue for the next 10 years!!!
