Do you have a male bestfriend? My best friend is a male who's been my childhood friend too. Our families are so close to each other. In fact, when I was in high school and college he's the only guy who can just come and visit me anytime with my mom's permission. No other guy is allowed to do that because my mom's very very strict and conservative. She's scared of her children getting married before they're ready. Our closeness somehow, sparked something in us that we vehemently deny and keep hidden in ourselves because we knew that if we let ourselves fall in love with each other, we might ruin the friendship. Besides, that would seem like a betrayal to my mom's trust. So, he chose another girl and we continued to be the best of friends, being so comfortable with each other that people around us firmly believe that were a couple. But they just didn't understand the special bond that we have. When we were in college, his gf was annoyed with me because he gets to spend more time with me than with her and I mostly get all the favors I ask from him. I remember him asking me, for the first and the last time, why do you have to be my bestfriend? That was when he told me the very first time in grade school that he saw me, he decided to become my bestfriend because he liked me.I never suspected he liked me more than a friend should.But I guess sometimes, you just have to choose what's best for you and not what you want.

My best friend is male. He's quirky and slightly fabulous, but I love him dearly. I value his uniqueness and intelligence, and I think he finds the same things within me. I've known him for just over five years, but he tends to go for the heart and hold on for dear life.

You're lucky you didn't fall in love with him. I guess it was also my fault why I fell in love with my bestfriend and having to give that up in the end.

I think that's a wise decision because you don't let your emotion to choose your decision, instead, you weigh the situation based on reason. Just believe yourself in your every decision.

Male best friends are the best in this girls opinion!
I have had and still have many male best friends. I like them because we are able to talk about things, like how guys feel about... I like them because there is no reason to "try to impress" The guys love to eat and don't mind if I have a plate of ribs too! I don't have to put on my make-up to go see them. Its ok to wear my football jerseys or baseball caps.
My male friends don't expect anything from me but friendship, if I don't call for a couple of weeks, they don't feel insecure about our relationship. They love to hear about the men I'm dating, give me great advice in that area and tell me all about their love lives without the "should i call her or nots."Yes, I love my male best friends. I don't know what I would do without them!

to choose what is good for you and not what you want is the toughest part of life. we have to do that all the time and it is so painful. I understand how you feel and it is real bold of you to agree that what is best for you is the right decision.
