Put enough food in my belly & it's no problem. I'll be snoring in no time ( unless I'm riding with my wife in which case I'll be white knuckeled gripping the dash ). * Not really I'm just picking on her to see if she's checking my resonses.

I can easily fall asleep in a moving car and be in a deep sleep - as long as I'm not the one driving. It kind of lulls me to sleep. When my children were babies and couldn't fall asleep, I would take them for a drive and they would fall asleep. It was great for my son because he slept so soundly, I would bring him in from the car and put him to bed. My daughter on the other hand, would wake up as soon as you turned off the engine.

My son was like your son when he was younger the minute you get in the car he would fall asleep and you can take him out and get him changend and put him in bed and he would not wake up. Now (he is almost 5) he wakes up the second you stop.

Not if the vehicle is moving, no. I am always watching the road when my husband is driving. I don't tell him how to drive but I can't help but worry and want to stay aware. A plane (and probably a train) is awfully noisy. I really can't sleep there unless I'm on a long transatlantic flight through the night. A few years ago we were at my in-laws. My husband went out partying while I stayed home. When I went to bed I could not get to sleep, which is usually the case when I am "waiting" on my husband. When he finally came home he had been drinking which means when he fell asleep he was snoring like crazy. There was no way I could sleep. I went out to the living room only to find my sister-in-law sleeping on the couch because she could not sleep with her husband for pretty much the same reason. So, believe it or not, I went out to our van and buried myself in blankets and slept in the vehicle for a few hours. I was a little angry that I had to resort to that (probably one of the reasons I hate going on vacation to the in-laws) and with my illness (fibromyalgia), lack of sleep is not a good thing for me. So, I don't like driving the two day drive to the inlaws because of what it does to my body, and I don't like the sleeping arrangements down there so I just as soon stay home in my own comfy bed.

Oh believe me, my husband gets his fair share of kicks and pokes. I tell him to turn over because most snoring occurs when he is sleeping on his back. But if he has been drinking there is always snoring. I poke and prodded and gave up and looked for somewhere else to sleep. Also, I have sleeping issues wherein I need to take a sleeping pill to get to sleep every night. That won't work if there are things going on in my head and around me. I won't take a sleeping pill if we are driving on a long trip because as you said, I need to keep my husband awake by talking. Also, he may need me to take over the driving for a little while.

poor thing. well if my husbands snores he gets kicked few times and if that does not help I wake him up. My husband wants to talk while he is driving or he gets tired and sleepy when he is driving in the country and basicly if you would sleep in the car you would do that on long drives. So now I cant sleep even if I want to.

i can fall asleep easily in a car. I like sleeping in all kinds of transportation. That makes me feel easier to pass the time or I may feel bored.

I am very picky when it comes to sleeping even changing a pillow can disturb my sleep. This year we went camping for the first time and I was suprised how good I felt and how fast I fell asleep.

I can sleep about anywhere, but when I need to sleep at home. If I am not driving, I can sleep. My hubby drives to Cleveland and sometimes I ride with him and can sleep in a heartbeat.

I can't sleep in a car either. When we go on a long trip I may dose off but only for a bit. I'm to much of a nervous person to sleep in a car. that and I can't get comfortable. my husband on the other hand can sleep in a car or anywhere for that matter. lol

Which do you want? Me sleeping while driving or me sleeping while riding? I have done both. The first, is the more dangerous one and after I wrecked my 93 Geo going home from work one morning I realized it and ended up quitting that job because 40 hours in 2 1/2 days was just to much on my body. The second, I have always been able to sleep in a car. Even as a child when we went to see family down in Oklahoma I slept on the way there and back. The only time I woke up is when my dad would pull over on the side of the road, take a jug of cold water out, and splash it on his head. He did this to keep from falling asleep behind the wheel. To this day, being almost 30 years old I can still fall asleep whenever traveling for more than an hour.
