have you ever driven off with something left on your car hood or roof?
Like say you are getting ready to drive away and realize that you have forgotten something in the house, so you set your purse or travel mug on the roof... get back to the car in a rush because you are now a bit later than you had hoped.... only to forget that you have stuff up on top and off you go...
if you are lucky you will hear a plink pop crash - and figure out what it was before you get too far down the driveway - if you are not so lucky you will not notice until you get to your destination and then you have to back track your trip and pray it was blown to the side of the highway and not run over by a speeding semi-
I once had it that I left 2 dvd's on the roof of my car that needed to be returned... one surprisingly was still there when I arrived at the video store - the other one was several miles down the road - on the side of the highway where it had gotten pushed to after being run over.. incredibly only the case exhibited any damage - with tread marks and crushed areas... the dvd inside was never harmed.
Have you ever done this, or seen someone driving down the road with their fast food drink on top or their purse? how about a baby seat? I've seen that once (no the baby was not in it)

OMG I am glad to say it has never happened with a baby seat! I can identify with you though as I once went in for petrol and for some reason when I was getting back into the car I left my purse on the roof! It was several miles to my house and I wondered why there were so many people flashing lights etc. It wasn't til I got out of the car at home that I realised they had been trying to let me know that my purse was on the roof - how did I find out? simple really - the purse was still there! That really was a lucky day! xxxx

I did that with movies once. I realized when I got to the store to return the movies that they were not in the car. I knew I had brought them out with me, so I retraced my path and I found them on the side of the road about a block from my house. Thank goodness they had not been run over. They had fallen off when I turned the corner.

I have done it many times. I have left coffee on the roof...what a mess that makes. I left my date book on the roof several times but luckily it was zipped every time...lol My girlfriend went shopping with her new baby and husband, when they got home they both got out and brought in the groceries and forgot the baby on the trunk of the car in his carseat...lol It was only seconds till they noticed but she thought she was going to have a stroke trying to get down to the car...lol

A cup of coffee and my husband was not very pleased when it spilt all over the front and side of the car. Just as well it was in a paper cup from Starbucks.

I have seen people drive away with cups on top of their cars. I drove away with my cell phone on the roof. I didn't get far. It was scratched up but still worked.
My ex-husband left his cell phone at my house once and I was supposed to bring it back to him. I put it on my trunk and then put our daughter in her carseat.
I totally forgot about the phone. I pulled into the driveway and had this feeling of dread. He would have been so mad! Thankfully, the spoiler of the car kept the phone in place and nothing happened to it! I would have never heard the end of it.
