I have read this from one of my researches on arthritis. People with arthritis should eat a low purine diet such as cherries, celery and cheese which are known to reduce your uric acid. The foods to avoid (or limit) are those high in purines. Limit intake of meat, meat extracts, fish, poultry or tofu. Avoid (or limit) sweet breads, kidney, liver, brains, seafood, sardines and anchovies, asparagus, cauliflower, mushroom, spinach, dry beans, alcohol. To avoid dehydration, drink plenty of water and avoid diuretic food or medicines like aspirin. I hope this would help for those of us who are feeling slight or tremendous pain due to arthritis

Hi, What you have suggested above is a diet for "Gout related Arthritis" Arthritis is not a disease in it self, but a painful condition of the joints like migraine or headache. People with Osteoporosis related Arthritis cannot fully follow the diet you have suggested. They require the calcium & essential oils from nuts & fish sources. Also sour foods like citrus based food are cut down for those having Osteo Arthritis. Where as those suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis are advised to have the citrus fruits. Rheumatoid Arthritis is an auto immune condition. So is Psoraitic Arthritis. So people do consult a good doctor before you start any diet program of your own. A proper diagnosis is very essential. I would like to suggest a few home remedies which are common to all forms of Arthritis just to ease the pain & hasten the healing process.... "Commiphora wightii" or "Guggul" is a Ayurvedic remedy for all arthritic conditions. it is commonly known as Golden Frankincense. It also helps to reduce bad cholestrol. Garlic is a good remedy. Juice of raw Potato. Juice of Ginger. dried ginger root is very commonly used as a remedy. Again let me remind you proper diagnosis is the key.
