I'm still sticking to Windows XP SP2.. And I find vista too expensive. They say its got lots of incompatibility issues and security problems. Is it worth spending that much money? Or should I just go for Linux or stay with my XP..?? Please give your opinion.. Also state the edition if you have.. Thank u

if you have a powerful pc it's the perfect windows for you, if not don't buy it...this windows requires a lot of resources ... if you don't have 2 gb's of ram a dual core and a moderate video card...let's say nvidia 7th series don't buy win vista :|

I agree with 10tacl3, only buy Vista if your PC is ready for it, don't settle for anything else. While waiting try ubuntu-linux, definitely not as good as vista but hey, it free.

Yeah.. I think I'll have to wait until all the compatibility issues with other IT company products are settled..

I am using Vista as it came on the computer I bought. I don't which version I have, whatever is common on computers, I guess. So far, knock on wood, I haven't had problems with my computer and I've had it for at least six months if not longer. I've actually had fewer problems out of my computer that I did my laptop which had windows xp.

In my opinion its slow and not really worth it, I think mine is basic home pack, but there are many features missing on vista def stick to xp..x But in my opinion the more advanced anything gets the slower it gets...bye...xx

The more advances anything gets and you decide to buy it, then the faster your computer should get(I mean you should upgrade it)!!

I heard and personally feel that vista is really not that stable. Yes, some of its functions are so cool and advance. For example, its calender function, picture slideshow function and those picture slideshow. All of theose functions are so cool and i really like it. However, come to think about the stability of the vista edition,it really turn me off of about having vista for my laptop. I would rather like to have just XP edition. In a way, it is quite stable as it is running quite a number of years now. Although it do not have all those great functions vista provides, but it is much more safer and more stable to use it. Therefore, i recommand of using XP edition is better.

Personally, I haven't used the vista OS as such but I know of the compatibility and security issues and I already do not like it because of that.

unlike the vista bashing going all over the internet i personally got to like the new OS.... it has nice interface, added security and Dx10....so it is better than XP but only if you have a fast enough computer... and i am starting to like Ubuntu linux more by the day....so i may switch to it soon

We have Windows XP and Windows Vista as well. Yes, windows vista is really expensive and I can say that not all software and drivers are compatible to it since it is fairly new. besides, you really need a high and good computers specs for the Vista because sometimes it will really slow you down. So, I guess I prefer using WIN XP as well. Thanks.
