Glasses?

So I went to the optometrist today and learned that the reason why I've been getting headaches when I'm in bright light is in fact not because I'm turning into a vampire. [a running joke I had with a few friends] It was discovered that instead my left eye is incredibly far sighted, and my right eye is constantly overcompensating for it, which causes the headaches when I'm in bright light.
So now, though I have perfect vision in the right eye, I have to get glasses to make up for the left. [with a prescription my eyes are right back at 20/20.]
I've never had glasses before, and honestly was somewhat crestfallen when I was given the news. Now I have to wait a long week until I can actually try out the frames and hope that they're really to my liking.
Do you wear glasses? How old were you when you got them? Were you upset when you got them? Have you ever tried contacts?
Basically anything glasses related goes here.

I wear glasses. I got them in 5th grade. I was not happy about getting them when I got them. I used to take them off all the time if I was not in class. I got contacts when I was in 9th grade. I loved them. I stopped wearing glasses completely. Now, I am wearing glasses again. The contacts started to bother my eyes too much.

Yeah,I've heard that contacts are a pain. I guess on the bright side, in theory I'd only have to wear one? :P
Anyway, thanks for the post, I guess I'm glad to hear that getting glasses, while unpleasant at first, wasn't earth shattering for you.

Sorry about the headaches. But don't be down. Glasses can be a great fashion statement. And you'll be in great company. Elton John, John Lennon,Leo DiCaprio
Bob Saget,Raven Symone,Adam Sandler,Eminem,Johnny Depp, Matt Damon,Demi Moore, Madonna, the list goes on..And if you don't like them, you can change them. Or contacts I have those too. You can totally control your look. HAve fun with it. Keep them clean, that's all.

Thanks for the support, and I'll definitely take care of them [glasses & contacts, should I get them]. Considering how expensive they are, they're too big of an investment for me not to! [College kids that are working their way through aren't renowned for their endless pockets.]
