Here in Southern California the seasons are not always as easy to notice as they are in some places as there is, except in the mountain areas, no snow on the ground and the majority of the trees maintain their leaves all year around
yet there are still signs of spring that I notice...
My favorite herolds of spring are in the plant kingdom: the Japanese magnolia with its pinky white petals blooming from brown stick like branches... The leaves open after the blossoms do and so the flowers show dramatically and the field flowers.
In the insect kingdom: the swallowtail and monarch butterflies with their brilliant colors.
I am sure that you notice Spring coming in your area
Wondering how you can tell that it is Spring where you live?
What is Spring like where you live?

Here in NE Ohio we have bulbs poking through the frozen ground and I have seen my first Robin of the season. I think the biggest sign after the cold winter we have had will be when we can actually manage a full seven days without snowflakes - it aint happened yet!

I am wondering what flowers usually come first in your area...
Also thinking that it must have been pretty cool to see that Robin.
Hoping that you have at least two weeks without snow soon... grins...
Happy Spring to you! soon.

I noticed all the grass is turning greener, the birds are more abundant, the squirrels are out playing and the smell in the air. I'm glad to see spring has finally came around as I hate the cold weather. It's soon going to be planting time around here, only hope I wait long enough and we don't have another cold snap like we did last year. I had to restart my garden once because of the freeze that we had in mid April last year.

Here's hoping that this time your garden will require only one planting... good luck to you!
