Hi cher913, There's no way in the world that I'll be wasting my time worrying about this futile feel-good exercise. Let's see the RICH buggers all turn off THEIR lights and eat their roast lobsters and truffles in the dark. And let's be honest here, we'll see flying pigs before we see THAT. In the first place, turning off the lights won't do a single thing to change "global warming". Unless someone is smart enough to pull the plug on the SUN. And secondly, doing so will just waste everyone's time when they could be doing something more constructive - like all those rich b*stards will be doing, entertaining their guests or jet-setting around the world living the high life (while all the poor silly lemmings stumble around in the dark, thousands of feet beneath them as it should be). No, cher913, I won't be paying tribute to this touchy-feely, nonsensical gesture. I'll be too busy with other activities. If people really DO care about the world, then let's see some serious effort put into stopping all the logging, open-cut mining, and trawling of the oceans with 100-mile long drift-nets. Let's see some concerted campaigns for reforestation on all the world's continents. Let's see some genuine action to feed the world's poor and starving communities and help to get them into sustainable economic activities. Let's squash the pharmaceutical cartel's attempts to hijack the world's food chain with their monstrous franken-foods and poisonous chemical products. And let's get some real progress on economically viable energy technologies by breaking the global oil cartel's stranglehold on the world's governments. THESE are all things I'd give some time to. But I'll not waste a moment of my time with silly media-pumped nonsense like this global "live in the dark" day. We might as well declare a global "dance around the flag pole" day, for all the good that will come from it. And I guarantee, we won't see any of the RICH b*stards dancing around any flag pole, either.

Don't you think the people behind this Earth Hour researched what they are talking about and spreading around? I'm not really sure if it's bad to not join in this Earth Hour. What harm can it do?

yes of course i will participate in this Earth Hour. I don't want to be one to say i didn't do anything to save the world in my own way. I don't want to be someone who will regret when it's too late. Hahaha.
