The importance of the Avatar

I recently went on a hunt to find the perfect avatar for myself. It took me an hour or two, but I finally found it. I wanted something that would sort of represent me in a way, since everyone is going to see it and associate it with me. How important is the avatar to you? Do you change it periodically to keep it fresh? Or you don't really care?

It took me ages to actually find out how to work the thing and change it!! Once I did I wanted something to match my user name. The closest I got to it with the avatar I have is the rose he he!! But still the wolf looks pretty much like me first thing in the morning so I can get away with it!! I think I will look out for something else that matches me more, but for now I am quite happy with it.

As long as your happy with it, it doesn't matter. At least there's a rose somewhere in there lol.

Somewhat important... but very good looking. My avatars have to be some very aesthetically pleasing images, plus somewhat representative of me. I was going to start randomizing, but this avatar is the best one I've had so far. Its really grown on me.

Yeah, I like your avatar too. You should keep it cause when I saw your name in last response, I pictured your avatar. It's very recognizable.

Not that much important, since my avatar used to be what my user name is but find it not moving so I looked for something else that I enjoy watching as they move. This avatar of mine is somehow related to what my suer name is, but is a different character/creature. Both came from a PS1 role-playing game that I used to enjoy playing back then, I missed it and wished that I still have my PS1 functioning well! But as for other members, I find it hard to look at those default green avatars since they all look the same. Maybe they could put up something for them to be recognized, that would at least help them in participating here and attract other members on their own posts and so on..

I think avatars can be very important. It took me almost two hours to find the one that I thought represented me and my interests. It's probably not that obvious to others but as they get to know you, it all makes sense. I use the same avatar on all the sites I go to including my blogs and people actually recognize my avatar and Id. It comes in handy when you are trying to earn money on line by keeping everything flowing and connected.

That's true, it's good to be consistent so people will recoginize you. Come to think of it, I think I've seen that avatar somewhere before...
