What values do you teach or want to teach your children?

We are brought up in different ways and sometimes our character is based on values instilled in us by our parents. Our children too will be who they are when they grow up based on the values we teach them. When we were growing up, we siblings were taught by our parents to do household chores and take care of our younger siblings so that we would learn the value of responsibility. They also instilled in us the value for money wherein we used to make our own piggy banks with the use of coconut shell. Hard work is also taught to us as we need to value the things my parents have hard to put-up like our house and other properties. Up to now, I live up to the value of honesty which is very important. Now that I'm a parent, I also am teaching my son the value of money and saving for a rainy day using a piggy bank. Also I am talking to him when I caught him lying at times to teach him the value of honesty and respect for elders. He was also given household chores and to take care of his things to learn tne value of responsibility. I am seeing fruits in all of teaching these values as in the tender age of 15, my son is capable of managing on a daily basis my brother's computer shop sometimes and learn to take care of the money that the shop earned for the day. Also, he sees to it to take care of his gadgets and work hard for it and not just ask me for it. So what kind of values you want to teach your children?

Have taught my daughters a number of different values but the one that I think was the biggest and most important is how they treat others. I taught them that no matter where a person comes from or what they have or don't have it is important to be kind to all people. This lesson is easily seen when I watch my daughters. My daughters are 23, 15 and 13 and I know they touch peoples lives on a daily basis by being kind to everyone. They are strong girls but they have really big hearts and they are friends to everyone.
