If you came across a similar discussion I posted earlier dont worry. I am just trying out the tag system to see if it really makes a difference.
So the discussion seeks to find out the importance that you put into knowing the meaning of your name. I would also like to know if you choose a name for your child based on the meaning.
My first name is greek and means healer, wholesome.
Mark is a latin name meaning warlike, hammer, defender.
Richard is an Old German, Old English name meaning powerful ruler, brave one.
Names used in the bible days apparently bore a lot of significance based on the meaning.
Do you think that a persons name has something to do with their character? Can you for example look and someone and infer from what you see that they behave like a Mark or a Richard? Do persons you know with your name behave similarly to you?

Deepti is a common Indian feminine name.This name has a variety of meanings. From Sanskrit, this means light, glow, shine, or a person who spreads light to people around.It basically means a bright flame that blinds the eye. That's a funny topic. I think most of parents named their kids' name meaningful, some commemorate their late relatives and friends, some express their hope and best wishes. My family name is Zhang, it said that our ancestor who invented the arrow, so the king gave him this family name. My given name is Wei, it means great. My parents want my to be a great person. Many people thought it was a boy's name. I think a persons name will influnce this character at a certain extent, but I haven't meet a person who behave similarly to me even we have the same name, by the way, my name is common in China.

My name is sreejith and the meaning of my name is always winning person.Some times we can find some relation with the persons character and meaning and i think it is just only a coincidence.

Hi there! I will base my answer on what my Aunt said, she's the one who chose my name. My name is Maria Angelica. Maria, is from Mama Mary and Angelica is supposedly from the name of an angel. I think my aunt really wants me to be a good girl.

Ah ah. Perhaps the feel of your skin at time may have promted them to give you that name. If your avatar is any thing to go by I think you may have out grown that name (smile). Thanks for sharing Tutul. (lol)

Interesting question, I do believe that everyone's name has a meaning. My name when translated to English means a precious stone, like some sort of jewelry like sapphire, ruby, diamonds, emerald, something like that. I think my parents really love me and they treasure me like a precious gift, I'm really thankful for them to give me such a nice name.
