If I had to choose between a shaved head or a comb-over I think someone who is shaved looks much better.

I agree... I think that a comb over can be funny looking... and so can a bald spot cover that does not match.

I prefer to see hair and lots of it on my scalp... I have a nephew who was getting the curse of my family, male patterned baldness, a receeding hair line... and rather than see that occur, he shaved his head. He looks okay with it but I still like the hair better. I have seen people going through treatments for cancer shave their heads as they would rather not go through the pain of having their locks fall off and have also seen their classmates and others who love them shaving their hair in solidarity with them. I have also seeen people shave their heads due to the loss of people they loved as in some cultures, shaving the head or at least brutally cutting off hair is done by those who have lost relatives and friends. There are also people who want to shave their heads for coolness during the summeer or because they do not want to have to deal with their hair due to being lazy or due to travelling. And of course there are people who wear it this way to look like other people. I think that these reasons are okay and that some of the people who do this look okay with their heads shaved but I still would rather see someone with curly locks, thick hair, etc. than a shaved head. I will give though extra smiles to the cancer survivor and to those who because of love for him or her shaved their heads in solidarity.
