Have You Ever Taken The Praise Or Credit For Something You Did Not Do?

Tonight I did a sausage casserole for tea, I cooked the sausages and then added a stir in sauce for 15 minutes, job done! My hubby came in from work, sat down and ate with gusto, that was lovely he said, thats the best casserole I have ever tasted, did you make it yourself? I looked at him and without a blink said yes I made it.
So, have you ever taken the praise for something you did not do? Whether it be cooking, or a piece of schoolwork when in school or anything at all? Or is it just me thats a little rat bag?

I haven't, but my husband's family has a tradition of doing that when they buy food prepared at the store. They will say things like "I slaved all day baking this cake for you." as they pull it out of a box from the grocery store. It's kind of funny!

With cooking? yes because I'm a lousy cook hahaha. I would say I baked the chocolate chip cookies myself, which I did, but not from scratch LOL I use those ready made packages and just add egg, butter/oil and water hahaha.

Ha ha I do not blame you, one thing I cannot make is cookies! I never thought about buying a mix you know, thanks for the inspiration there!!

That is very true ha ha. I also made sure that I put the jar out into the recycling bin, well hidden under everything else. Mind you he would not notice anyway, if it is under his nose then he never sees it .

you have to be proud of something you had accomplished. take the praise because you deserve it. there are a lot of people out there who had done good and cool things but wasnt thanked for so why not grab the chance when someone appreciates it.

Very true, I do not get thanked very often, so I made the most of it, even though it was not entirely my own creation. Well not of it was actually ha ha.

Yes i did it before. My daughter baked some coconut tarts and i took some to work for my co-workers they complimented me on how good they were and wanted to know if i baked them of course i smiled and said {yes}.

Hmm,let me think for a while.Yes ,there was one time when I was a little girl.My dad compliment me for the clean floor,he thought it was me who mopped the floor .Actuall it was my elder sister. My dad never praised me before,I was so flatterd and I didn't deny it.@gemini_rose (16264)

But you DID make it sweety! You didn't open the packet and have everything fall out ready cooked and mixed - come now you deserved that credit!
I am trying to think of an example and I really can't but I am sure I must have done at some time in my life! it wouldn't have been for anything very important though or I would have agonised over it for a long time - it is no good having a conscience! xxx

I bought a lovely lemon cheesecake in the bakery and brought it home put it on a nice plate and everyone oohed and aahed over my baking ability so I just kept really quiet.

Yep...ANOTHER FIBBER HERE ......oopsie...remember that advert..it had pinochio in it...and he told fibs and his nose grew longer???
well i can in all honesty say that i can put something on a plate and claim the credit for iot!!!
the best thing is the straight face...cos I can keep it going!!!
then as you say its eaten...and they say it was lovely...and ou say...thanks!!!!
