A highly reported story in our local news is of the Brooklyn, New York are minister that had been reported not heard from by his wife. It turns out that he was found in an area lounge living it up.
Police spotted his car and checked the license plate number against their list. When they entered the lounge and inquired about his identity he acted normally at first. When they told him that his wife had reported him as missing, they said he began acting confused. He had been seen hanging out at the lounge and empty liq**r bottles were found in his car. He had told his wife during their last phone conversation that he was taking his computer in for repairs. His wife is said to be on her way to this area from a family vacation at Disney World. Is the story odd or what?http://www.whiotv.com/news/15733670/detail.html?rss=day&psp=news

It does seem rather odd and there could be a few reasons for this! If his family were away maybe he was trying a little when the cats away the mouse will play or maybe he is really ill and has had some kind of blackout or breakdown? I guess there is no way for us too know but I do feel for his wife no matter what has happened! xxx

Yes, mummymo, it quite possibly could be a mental lapse on his part, and I hope that is all it is.

yep it is weird but he certainly is not the first person to be caught in a lie and definitely won't be the last.

You're certainly right about that, winterose, but we do expect our religious leaders to conduct themselves in a more Godly manner.

yes we do, just like we expect police officers to be honest and always do things by the law and they don't some of the are more crooked the criminals we put away.
Unfortunately many people should not be in the professions that they are in.

Doesn't sound like a good minister to me. I guess he thought it was a good time to get it out of system. I guess he got caught.

Sounds to me like the pastor did not have a black out. It's a great cop out..lol He admitted to asking one of the dancers to go back to his room so obviously he had a hotel room and intended to use it. This is odd but sometimes stress can cause people to do strange things. I would think this pastor would have some sense of responsibility to not only his wife but the church as well.
I remember years ago hearing of a family member who went to the store to get bread and was gone for a week. He was hanging out in a local bar during that time, his wife suspected.

I wonder if this was called by an "illness" or something deeper? It makes you think.
Ministers are under alot of pressure. But really no more than anyone else. Everyone risks temptation is their lives. Some are just able to handle it better.

I truly hope, sherrir, that this is simply a case of illness. I have seen so many preachers fall from Grace that I think it's a shame.

sounds pretty goofy to me. People it seems will do anything if they think they can get away with it. Someone who is a pastor should be able to be trusted or so you would think.
People!
