Hey Everyone! Well I basically wanted to get some information on things I can do for certain aches and pains during pregnancy! I am almost 6 moths pregnant and I feel like Im 9 months pregnant already! Up until this point I have been so severely sick that I havent even gained a pound in fact I have lost 17 pounds but for some reason i fell like Im carrying around a pig! My lower back and pelvis are extremely painful every time I move. When I lay on my side and I tighten my leg muscles you can hear my hip/pelvis bones hit each other sounds like Im grinding them together. Sometimes my pain gets so bad that I can hardly walk and my fiance has to help me get up every time I need to do something. Im really afraid that by the end of my pregnancy I wont be able to walk and I will be placed on bed rest which with 2 other kids would be impossible for me! I also have been getting really bad headaches and no medication seems to work. I try an ice pack or relaxing in the bubble bath but it never goes away it lasts for days! If anyone has any advice for me or any home treatments they know of please send them my way!

Have you tried warm baths? It sounds to me though that you need to discuss it with your doctor. It would be way to risky to wait and just try home remedies.

yea i take like 3-4 hot baths a day my fiance says im running the water bill up lol. I have discussed it with my OB doctor and he says its just the aches and pains of pregnancy but i honestly think its something more than just that.

I would check out the symptoms on Web MD or a site like that. I am sure my OB thought I was crazy when I was pregnant with my first. He would jerk his head and hit a nerve in my hip area and one whole leg would go numb. My doctor looked at me like a looney and then I told him about the pains when the stomach muscles start seperating...its a weird sharp pain anytime I would reach above my head for something on a high shelf. I could actually feel the muscles seperating...he told me just not to reach above my head anymore! LOL!

lol thats funny. Yea i think my doctor feels Im a bit on the looney side as well I have had some many problems in the last 5 months he just doesnt know how to help me anymore lol. First i was sick for 5 weeks with pneumonia and bronchitis and then I found out I have acid reflux disease and I kept throwing up acid from my stomach. Then I got a massive migraine for 2 weeks straight and ended up having to get glasses because my vision became blurry from it. Then on top of all that I have been admitted into the hospital 3 times because I couldnt keep any food or drink down so I was really dehydrated. Now I am having these back and pelvis issues Im afraid to tell him about the new pains lol.

In the second trimester (4-6 months), the baby is developing his/her lombs so bone and muscle development are talking place. Your pelvis and tummy is also stretching to accommodate the fetus. I think when I was leg cramps and back pains, I doubled my calcium dosage so instead of taking one caplet of calcebone, I took 2 in a day plus 2 glasses of anmum. I am not just sure if its normal that you lose weight but some preggies do. Are youhaving your natal check ups? You must tell your doctor about how you are feeling.

I suggest that you must not wait for your next check up, just see your ob immediately before it gets worse. I think massage could be done if its in the back but it should be done by a specialist.

Do you sleep with a pillow between your legs? That helps keep things in alignment since your bones are getting looser to prepare for birth. I'd watch the blood pressure with those headaches, my friend had them and it turned out she had preeclampsia!

Congratulations on your little one that is on the way! I am currently pregnant ( 6 months and 2 weeks). This pain that you feel in your lower pelvis is your round ligaments stretching. I too have this very painful problem. I find it very hard to get up and walk after sitting for any length of time. I consulted my OB about this and he suggested walking and moderate exercise, yeah Right! I find that nothing helps. My doctor also told me that the more pregnancies you have had the worse they feel. Said that my body has aged internally and not as tone as it was for my first three pregnancies. The only relief I get is knowing that this will all be over with in 3 very long months. Good Luck

Thank you for your reply and Im sure the pelvis pain Im feeling is exactly just that of pregnancy pains. But I did find out that I have 2 slipped disk in my lower back and that is also the cause of my extreme pains. But as you said luckily it will all be over with in 3 LONG months lol

i had the same problem when i was pregnant. i found that chamomile tea soothed me. also i know its hard but try to exercise don't do push up or anything like. but maybe taking a brief walk around the block or maybe just doing one block. or walking around the house for like 5 minutes. just don't over do it. assign certain chores to family members that you find hard to handle. don't lift heavy stuff. i know its hard but hang on in there. also stay away from as much caffine as possible. i hope this helps you a little. if you need more information just email me at djd832001@yahoo.com.
