interest ratings

I have a few questions regarding interest ratings. What level is best? In some things I am a level 1, is this good or is 5 better?
Also, is it goo to be 8,000 out of 10,000 or would it be better to be 1,000 out of 10, 000?
I just don't entirley understand it, could someone please explain?

I am not entirly sure about all of this either but I think that it is better if you have a higher star because I started out with a low star and then worked my way up it just makes more sense to me that it is better if you have a higher star...I mean maybe that is just me but it does seem to make more sense that if you have the higher star that it is going to be better for you...and now I don't really know what that does for you if you like get paid more or whatever but I think that the higher star is better...I hope that I helped you a little bit...

I didnt mean the stars beside the names, I mean interests rankings. Like your ranking in each interest. I just don't get how it works and which one is the higher ranking.

I hope its okey but maybe you focus on the quality of your respond because it will reflect it with the use of star after 100 post. I notice that and i've got 8 after 100. You will see it on top of your avatar and name. 10 is the highest.
