So what is a ghost?

I believe in ghosts and have been asked this many times. I'm never really sure what to say except that whatever they are...They are. What are your thoughts about them?

I agree with captainmorgan. I'd also like to add that sometimes, a spirit who hesitated too long to go to the Light wound up being a ghost, probably for the reasons that captainmorgan already explained and remained earthbound due to unfinished business or a deep attachment to a person or place.
