Mystic Christianity

I have read a book recently called 'Mystic Christianity'. It attempts to explain in a way the thirty years of Jesus' life that are missing from the Bible. Their theory is that he travelled to several Oriental countries such as India and China to acquire knowledge, then he returned to his native country to teach his people the truths he had discovered. They also say (and that is mentioned in the Gospels) that Jesus had two different kinds of messages: he spoke in parables for the mass and he revealed the most important secrets to his chosen ones (some of which are not written in the Bible). There are more ideas I found in this book but I can't write them all here. What do you think about this theory so far? Have you come across it before?

many questions the teachings and deity of Christ ever since before, even when He is here with the Apostles. I would like to catch your attention on this verse Mark 6:2-3 "And when the sabbath day was come, he bagan to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hat this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? IS NOT THIS THE CARPENTER,the son of Mary, the brother of Jame, and Jose, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him." ---on this verse the Jews knew that Christ is a Carpenter, how because simply Jesus Christ: Christ didnt go somewhere else but living a simple life being a carpenter. Joseph was a carpenter and mostllikely He)Christ) would become a carpenter also John 8:57 "Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?" ---they even knew His age, because they(jews) saw Christ from Childhood until He's grown up and started to preach ---there is another verse but sadly I couldn find it because I dont have an Electronic Bible here. I just search it manually. On the said verse the jews questioned the education of Christ, why He(Christ) preach, where did His knowledge and wisdom came from. and the jews also stated (I hope I could remember it exactly word for word) "how He(Christ) could preached, he never even went to School". How come the Jews knew that Christ never went to school, simply they never saw Him at School they saw Him being a carpenter helping and abiding his fathers(Joseph) instructions. I hope that I could help you clean up your mind to some impurities from other books and writings that blatantly opposing Christ diety and doctrines. My advice to you, is read more the Bible. Most people that have a doubt on Christ and His deity is somene who doest read their bible or even worse they didnt, even once I would like to invite you to check our website, to see more like of these, dealing with how authentic the bible is,defending the Chrisian Faith. Im sure you will get a lot knowledge youve never read before. www.esoriano.wordpress.com www.truthcaster.com Thaks! God Bless

Thank you for your answer. I have read the New Testament more than once, I respect it and I believe what it says. The one thing I don't understand is why there is so little said about the first thirty years of Jesus' life. Is it because the gospel writers met him only later? What is your opinion on this matter?

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also are ye saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain." Malachi 3:16 "...and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name." 2Timothy 3:15-16 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, fore reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" ---The bible was written because of many reasons like the one mentioned in the verses above. And because of these reasons, God only permits things to be written those w/c are necessary and or related for the salvation of mankind. Christ life in details wouldnt be neccessary for the salvation, if is written that Christ madeup a two table and 1 chair, would it be necessary for our salvation? of course not. If Christs life would be written in bible in details, it turns out to be one the boring books in the world. And the other thing is: Christ is eternal, we cannot contain something eternal in a book, we cannot give him a beginning and an end. You see Christ Birth didnt even written in details, when He was actually born,do dates exactly why? simply because He is infinite, he has no beginning nor an end. The Bible only cited things w/c are relevant to our salvation. Hope I answer you clearly. Pardon for my poor english, Im getting hardtime to it, for it was not my native tongue.

I havent read the book or anything but always wondered what he did in the missing years, i came up with the same conclussion. Jesus goes out travell and comes back all smart. Some of the things he says does match with some of the things buddha said. This just comes to show that there are many religions and not a one is right, and not a one is wrong, thats why i just follow my heart and mind.

Thank you. That is a very nice way of putting it. I honestly don't understand why people are arguing over religions when the essence is the same.

Hi luneliza, I have read much about this, and think that it is quite possible. Many of the teachings of Jesus can be found in the ancient religions of the orient, and were written many years before Christ. For me, it would not take anything away from Christianity, for these teachings are good no matter where they come from. When I think about it, it's difficult to believe that Jesus would have been content to stay at home all those years. Blessings.

I think you are absolutely right. I don't understand the people who immediately get defensive when they hear about these teachings. They don't rock your faith, if anything they make it stronger.
