Study after study has proven the health benefits of green tea, including fighting heart disease, cancer and other diseases. Now a new study says that drinking green tea may also help fight fat! Researchers say that substances found in green tea known as catechins may spur weight loss by prompting the body to burn calories and by reducing body fat. Catechins are a type of polyphenols, plant-based substances that have been shown to have antioxidant, anticancer and antiviral properties. New research findings, however, show that catechins may also help burn calories, cut low density lipoprotein cholesterol and slightly trim body fat. To get the maximum benefits of green tea, drink at least four cups a day.

the difference between green, black or white teas. black tea is one of the most common teas available and is mostly grown in southern Asia and Africa. with black tea the leaves of the plant are allowed to completely ferment, and drying of the leaves is done at the same time. Black tea has a strong flavor and contains more caffeine than the teas that are less fermented. Black teas is often sold in blends like earl grey which is blend of black tea and bergamot oil. Green tea the leaves of the tea plant go through only a minimal of fermentation either with steam, which is a traditional Japanese method, or by drying in hot pans in which is a Chinese method. gunpowder tea is a type of green tea each leaf rolled into a small pellet. but done only with tea leaves of very high quality. white tea is made with new growth leaves and no fermentation process. it contains leaves and buds for the tea plant while the other teas contain mostly just the leaves. dried white tea doesn't look green instead a distinctive pale appearance. Oolong tea is a traditional type of tea and has a similar taste to green. but the fermentation is stopped somewhere between the standards for green and black tea. it is very commonly serve in chines restaurants. Red tea is probably more accurate description because of the liquid's reddish color. it is used when talking about south African rooibos tea or African red tea, the word rooibos means red bush and the plant is a member of legume family. the tea is a herbal tea . the tea has a nice sweet and slightly nutty flavor.

Beware of bottled green tea like enviga, that claim to help lose weight! No solid scientific evidence has proven its efficacy in burning calories. boiled teas have polyphenols an anti-cancer properties, brew your tea for at least 3-5 minutes to bring out the beneficial of polyphenols tea is healthy beverage offering many health benefits rather than bottled green tea.
