I am so glad today that I never got into smoking cigarettes us it looks like a hard addiction to fight plus there is noway I could afford to spend that much money each week. I was not even ever tempted at highschool to smoke. Most of my friends at the time smoked and they tried to hassle me to do it aswell, but I did not want to. I think the main reason was, is because I was swimming competitively at the time and I wanted to be fit and healthy. I cannot stand breathing in smoke. No offence to any smokers here, just stating my opinion on smoking. So how about you, do you smoke? Or are you like me and never had one puff of a cigarette before? If you did smoke what made you decide to smoke in the first place and do you regret that decision today?

That is awesome to hear, I think playing sports or doing some form of training definately helps people stay determined not to smoke. All the best in your martial arts.

for me what made me quit was the feeling of being out of breath all the time

Yes unfortunately I have, I started smoking when I was 14, then I quit on my 30th birthday for 3 years it was the best thing that I ever did. But life became extremely hard and I went through some really bad times and I guess the only way I could rebell against what was happening around me and deal with it all, was to start smoking again. So I have been smoking again for a year now, but I am gearing myself up to stop again, just have to get the timing right and then put myself through all that again. I do not smoke as many as I did before I quit, I perhaps have 7 a day now whereas I used to have 20 but smoking is smoking so I am a naughty girl!! I will quit again though I know I will.

I am sure you will quit again, you had the strength and determination to do it for 3 years, that is fantastic. You are right though the timing has to be right, when you are ready otherwise you probably won't be able to quit as easily. Good luck when you do decide to make that decision, I have faith in you, that you can do it.

Hi kiran To be honest i have smoked quite a few ciggs in my life. During my school days i use to smoke. U can call it lack of maturity or curiosity to know differant things in life. Actually my dad use to smoke so there was a curiosity in me to smoke as well. I wanted to know how it felt and that can happen to any kid. The good part is i dont smoke or drink anymore. I am more into fitness now. I have worked as a fitness trainer and i know how much care we need to take for a healthy life. I did some body builing in my late teens and now dedicated to my business. Iam glad that i gave up smoking but it was never a habbit to me. Cheers, Tutul

Like you, I've never had a puff and proud of the fact!! I also hate breathing in smoke and avoid walking behind smokers or visiting places where smokers congregate.
