Personally, I would like to open my personal book & video library as I am so fond of books & movies. When starting a business I think that it is better to start with something in which you have a keen interest rather than something very lucrative but which does not mean a lot to you. Now with the internet technology I would opt for e-commerce but living on a small island in the Indian Ocean makes this quite difficult as most people would prefer to go to their local shops in person.

I agree with you, Ashbiz. It's important that you be passionate about the type of business you chose to start. Your enthusiasm will help you to get through the long hours usually associated with a business start up. I can't imagine starting a business doing something I hate just because of the money.

Yes! I would like to open a skate rink for my community! The kids really need a place to go after school. I also would like to open a t-shirt shop and a bar lounge.

I would love to start a Quilting Business, I have never sewn before untul about 5 years ago, and then I started due to my mother teaching me, and I have not stopped since. I would love to have a quilt shop, quilts are a beautiful expression of people, this is the one thing,that is so importatnt to me, if there is anyone out here that has any ideas about the cost of what it would cost to start one up please let me know. I would even like to start a business on the web, to be able to show my quilts and sell them. I have to say I am not real good about computer stuff so I have no idea on how to even get started on this. I know there are a lot of people out here that have started there own business. Please let me know who it went. would love to here.
