Are we headed for another Great Depression?

As you probably know, our country's finances are a mess. Its currency is worth less and less. Whoever heard of paying almost two dollars for a loaf of bread? And forget about things like gas and other basics.
Nothing is improving!!!
So, in that regard, do you think that the U.S. is heading toward another Great Depression? (I do!)

If the prices keep climbing, and the payscale doesn't, we may very well be headed that way. As it is, if the gas keeps climbing, I for one won't be able to afford to go to work, I have a 24 mile drive, each way, 5 - 6 days a week. So I'll either try to get transferred to a station closer to home or have to look for a job that pays at least what I make now, closer to home. It's really getting out of hand, I mean how do people that make minimum wage even come close to getting by? Hopefully it will straighten out soon. As for the 'jump start' that IRS is supposed to be sending out, I would like to know how they expect that to help the economy for those that owe taxes, because they won't receive that bonus money, it will goes towards their debt to uncle sam.
