Any ideas for replacements? He had chosen dancing - 8 weeks offered after school - and Mad Science - 8 weeks offered out side of school, they do not have a science class in school. If I don't find something for him to do, odds are that he will just want to play video games (after homework gets done of course). He is not into sports at all.

I would love to teach dance again..So your son likes dancing, that is fantastic.. What about the local Y? Would they have something for your son? They do have swimming and possibly dancing there..

We don't have a Y in our area. I was going to join the large health club here, but it is much more money than I want to spend. Even though he likes dancing, he doesn't want to join a dance school. He like Karate, but with us moving in June I don't want him to get started at a school then have to pay all those fees again somewhere else.

Is there anything else he's into? If there is a local rec center he can go to with classes he can try looking there. I was never into sports as well. Some kids just don't like it. It just really depends on what he's into. I know a lot of teens now days are making AMV's...its still sitting on their butts but its better then some other things they can be doing. if he's into anime/music you can ask him if he wants to try. i don't know how old he is and you need some editing skills. but if he likes things like MTV videos and he puts effort into it, it can become a good career.
