what should i do

last night i started a discussion about breaking up with my girlfriend. I forgot to add in a few things. First off this was the first woman i have met that i was truely falling for. I mean this for me was it but she wasnt feeling a 100 percent committed to what she wants. As she said to me her head and heart are fighting and she doesnt know what to do. I feel that I was getting compared to previous relationships that she has had. But what should I do should i give her the space which she did not request and give her time to figure it out or should i really pursue it. I am not a freak or weirdo i have made my mistakes in life but i am always honest and upfront with woman. More or less i am really confused any woman ever felt like this towards a guy where you feel it but are not sure and what do you think the guy should do I am really lost I dont want to loose something that could be great but yet i dont want to be with someone who is with me for the sake of being with me. Should i just leave it alone and be the best friend to her that i can. I care about her enough to where that would be great. please all advice would be very helpful
