Is organ harvesting should be made compulsory by law? or governments across world and Non profit organisations educate people on importance of organ harvesting? Many people are dieing because of lack of donors and also there is steep increase for the need of organs. This is making many innocent people falling pray to dubious people for monetary gains and also become victims.

I don't think that organ harvesting should be made compulsory by law, as the government controls our lives too much as it is. Our lives are no longer private. So while I understand that many lives could be saved with donated organs, I'd rather have the freedom to decide if and when. Even so, I'd be setting myself up. I think that it was comedian George Carlin who made fun of organ harvesting, remarking that suppose paramedics caring for him would care more about the liver or heart or whatever they were looking for at the time than in saving his life. It's funny, but when you think about it, there is a built-in danger. Your organs may become more valuable than your life. Dr. Robin Cook's first novel, Coma, dealt with the issue of organ harvesting. Read it if you get a chance. It's a real eye-opener.

I don't think organ harvesting should be made compulsory by law. I feel like people have the right to choose whether or not they want to donate their organs or not. It wouldn't be the same if people were compelled to give up their organs. Then it wouldn't be a gift.
