Have you ever had a pregnancy scare?

My Fiance and I went to a friends house just a few minutes away. The friends' mother was at home and we were talking to her as the friend was getting his PS2 that he recently bought hooked up. We were just sitting in the living room watching t.v. when his mother asked us "how's the baby?" My Fiance and I both froze, staring at her until she bursts out and clarifies herself. She was actually talking about a baby whose father we had just seen earlier that day. Her daughter was in the room with us, and noted that she was also a bit scared, as she didn't know what her mother was talking about.
I know it isn't a pregnancy scare as in the sense of the word, but I thought I would share and ask if anyone else has been scared by a misunderstanding?

When I was 18, I was about to start birth control and I was supposed to start taking it at the onset of my next period. I didn't get a period for almost 3 months and I freaked out really bad. It was nothing, since I have an ovarian disorder that causes me to miss periods, I'd just never missed them consecutively before and I got scared.

I was scared when that first happened to me as well, however, I was not active at the time. I believe that part of the reason I was frightened was because I had been having rape dreams. Our hormones are very complicated things, and sometimes we are unaware how long it will take for BD and other things of that nature to set in.

I hadn't started taking the birth control yet at the time. Since I started, I've had no problems.
