We were very pleasantly surprised on Sunday to find that the population of our farm increased by one. One of our broodmares produced a very nice foal. We're going to put up a picture on the website soon. www.sharonsoileau.com

We too have a new foal, we only learn that the mare was in-foal a couple of months ago. The foal is out of a cob mare by a Holstein colt. He will be quite stocky and probably a strawberry roan.

Well congratulations!! Im assuming mom and baby are doing fine. Was it an easy birth for her? Did you not know she was pregnant? Im sure it will be fun to watch this little guy or girl grow up. I love foals. They are so playfull and full of life. ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper

Thank you. Yes, we knew. They are both doing well, and Sharon says she really likes the look of this colt. We will hope for great things from him on the racetrack some day, but even if that doesn't pan out he sure is a good looking little scamp.

Mama Lacie and Baby Rio -
Rio (Rockin' Doc Fleet)
Aren't babies great? I only got to experience it one time two years ago, but I went through the whole thing; breeding the mare, caring for her every day, and was there when she foaled. Here's the result - Rockin' Doc Fleet (Rio), registered bay overo paint stud colt, two blue eyes (Lacie is breeding stock paint with one blue eye and had never thrown color!).
