Do you like tapenades? If you don't know what this is, it's somewhat like a flavored paste. From Wikipedia: ...pureed or finely chopped olives, capers, and olive oil. ...generally eaten as an hors d'ouvre, spread on gourmet bread ... Sometimes it is also used to stuff fillets for a main course. ... often flavored differently in varying regions with other ingredients such as garlic, herbs, fish, lemon juice, or brandy. I've had some olive tapenades and some eggplant tapenades, btu I am not too fond of them. They taste okay but I prefer just to eat the aggplant roasted or the olives raw and plain. They are nice once in a great while as a change of pace. I prefer mine on some baguette. What do you think of tapenades? Do you prefer olives in this paste or to eat them plain in all their glory?

In Greece we call tapenade PASTA, pasta itself is macaronnia. Black olive paste spooned up with roasted pitta breads is heaven, quite a bitter flavour which balances with the bread.

I am sorry but I never heard of them so I certainly do not know how they taste, but I would try them if I had a chance to.

I think it's always good to try new things. You never know what you'll like. If you don't like something, simply don't eat it again... Pretty simple. ;)

I have had black olive tapenade and green olive tapenade. I think the green olive one it better than the black olive one. I have also had red pepper and artichoke tapenade. It was ok, but not my favorite.

It depends if I'm out at a nice Tapas bar then I go for it. But at home, I don't buy it or make it, I just like plain old olives...especially in a Martini!!

Im not sure if I've ever tried this before, but it sounds delicious. You have made me hungry... and there is nothing here to eat. Oh well I just let my mouth continue to water imagining the flavor... I would perfer olives if given the choice... who wouldn't. Olives are terrific.
